If you've never been on team before the whole idea of coming down to work on a campsite voluntarily for five days might not seem the greatest thing to do with your summer. Still every year amazing people from all over the country, and further afield too, come and volunteer.
From the feedback we receive, people love serving on a team; they make new friends, get to help thousands of others engage with God and are often changed by Jesus themselves!
But it's not all hard work, teams have a great laugh, bond together and get to be a part of making the event happen.
These are just some of the comments from people who've served on a team in the past! Have a look through and see why people come back year after year after year after year...
"I never knew that working on a café could impact so many. It felt like a small job at first but I realized we were a ministry, as important as the main meetings. God worked loads through the team, which was incredible to be apart of. "
Café Team Leader
"My Highlights were, close groups and friendly teams, fun, great experienced team leaders, program of shifts which tried to make sure you got to one main meeting each day plus the stewards own meeting each day. Also communal dinning with your team and other teams"
Joy, Steward
"I worked in the café and during my week there I saw God working through so many people in so many ways. We saw people completely healed when we were told there was no hope, young people asking to be prayed for for the first time in their lives, and many friendships built. The team I worked with was such a blessing, so many genuine and interesting people, willing to help and befriend anyone who needed it."
Gemma, Cafe Team
"I love being a village host! I love the chance to talk to who ever is up at 12.30am every night and listen to how everyone’s day has gone. It has just been a huge privilege to serve in such a great way."
Dave & Lea, Village Hosts
"I became a Christian and it was whilst I was working on the Catering Team!"
Dan, Catering
"This is my first time as a village host and I spoke to many young people where I could encourage and pray for them. I think I was more blessed as I talked to people at this event then being the blessing. I have really enjoyed it here."
Kim, Village Host
"I worked on the skate team in the Lift, and I just wanted to say what a good
time I had. It was amazing to see so many young people, Christians and non-christians
coming and learning to skate and forming relationships with the team. I
truly believe that God moved in incredible ways in that week. I saw young
people turn up on the first day with hardly any self esteem, and by the
last day we were skating with them and they had big smiles on their faces!
Lots of them followed us to the evening meetings and there are many testimonies
of how God changes people's lives."
Kathy, Lift Skate
It's important to know that being on team means you do have to work! The point of the teams is that the events run smoothly and so you might not always be able to get to every main meeting or seminar.
A lot of teams will ask you to work up to 8 hours a day, and with venues closing at midnight it can be really tiring! Before you apply be sure to check the job descriptions and make sure you know what you're getting yourself in for!
