the fringe
Can you strike up a conversation with someone you don’t know? Do you enjoy listening to peoples questions? Well we need friendly, chatty people to join our Fringe team.
A great group of people that spend their time at Soul Survivor getting to know and hanging out with those delegates who aren’t getting involved with the main programme. From walking around site when the main meetings are on, to chatting over coffee in the fringe venue - our Fringe team meet those who are feeling lost or out of their depth with Soul Survivor, coming alongside them to discuss either those complicated questions or simply talk about the weather!
You will have to supply your own accommodation but in return for your hard work you will get a free place at the event and all your meals (beginning on the evening day 1 to the evening of day 5) – what more could you want!
how old do i have to be?
The minimum age is 18.
what will my days look like?
Your time on the Fringe team will be split. You will spend a lot of time going around site building up relationships with delegates as well as spending time in the Fringe café venue. The Café is a quieter place for those delegates to come who are asking questions about what’s going on around site. You will not only be talking to delegates but you will help out serving on the café itself. Your team leader will organise your time on a shift basis but you will do about 8 hours a day split over 2 shifts.
when will i need to be on site?
Day 1 – midnight Day 5. There’s a meeting on Day 1 for all teams in the early afternoon followed by an individual team meeting where you’ll meet your lovely team leaders and pick up your wristband! The times for these meetings will be confirmed closer to the summer but as long as you are there early afternoon you will be fine.
do i need anything extra to be on this team?
You will be required to complete a CRB form before we can confirm your place on team. A pack will be sent to you when we process your initial application. If you already have a CRB with Soul Survivor that is less than three years old then you will not have to complete a new one.

Please apply for your place on team online (we're no longer accepting team applications by post or email in 2012).
You can apply online using our booking system. If you haven't done so already you will need to register with our online system, then login. Book a place on the event of your choice and choose the option to book as a team member. It’s completely free to volunteer with us so won’t have to give any payment details.
