the cafe teams

Soul Survivor is famous for its various cafes, from old favourites like Café Uno to new ones like the Live Lounge at Momentum, and we are looking for some very special people to help us keep the delegates supplied with cake!

As each of the Cafés are slightly unique in style and opening times here are the basics to help you choose:

Café Uno

Good coffee, good cake, and a live jazz band – need we say more! Café Uno is open in the afternoon and evenings. So for a great soundtrack to your week on team choose to serve here.

Dreggs
Insanity dished up in a plastic penguin cup. Say no more.

Soulympic Café

Our Sports café, with penny sweets, video games and a chance for our delegates to re-hydrate after their sports/skating session! The Soulympic Café is open whenever the Sports venue is open and is a great café to see first hand all the various sporting activities and we will be showing the olympics on the big screen!

Soul Action Café

A place for delegates to chill out with good coffee and contemplate the universe! The only café to be open for breakfast it provides a space for delegates to learn a little bit more about Soul Action and what it stands for.

Soul Survivor Café

In the hubbub of the Toolshed lays the Soul Survivor Café – open in the afternoons and the evenings this café is a great place for delegates to come and peruse their new purchases with some good cake!

Tool Shed Café

This is the second of the cafes in the Toolshed. Standing on the balcony this café team will teach you not only how to serve our delegates well needed cake but also the secret of the hot chocolate mountain cheer that only Toolshed Café members ever learn!

Fringe Café

The Fringe venue is a place for people to ask questions and although hosted by our ‘Fringe team’ the Fringe café team provides them much needed support by creating a welcoming space for those delegates who want to open up. As well as being the only café team where you need to be 18 or over you will also need a CRB. A pack will be sent to you when we process your initial application. If you already have a CRB with Soul Survivor that is less than three years old then you won't have to complete a new one.

Big Top Cafe, Momentum only
A relaxed café open before and after the main meetings in the big top. A place for delegates to digest what they may have just heard!

Grounds Café, B, C & Momentum only
An all new Cafe! Our very own little Italian Coffee joint, yes sir-ee!

Live Lounge Café, Momentum only
Open only in the evenings the Live Lounge has the best mix of acoustic music and chilled out atmosphere (including some interesting surprises – the Somerset farmer battling with a London delegate was a highlight last year!)

You will have to supply your own accommodation but in return for your hard work you will get a free place at the event and all your meals (beginning the evening day 1 to the evening of day 5) – what more could you want!

how old do i have to be?

The minimum age is 16 for all of the cafes except the Fringe café where the minimum age is 18.

what will my days look like?

Each café works on a shift pattern – you will do about 8 hours a day (usually split over two shifts) – you will serve the delegates, generally clean the venue and create a friendly place on site for everyone to go!  Any training needed for the café equipment will be given on site at your first team meeting. You will have the opportunity to go to some main meetings and seminars over the five days.

when will i need to be on site?

Day 1 – midnight Day 5! There’s a meeting on Day 1 for all teams in the early afternoon followed by an individual team meeting where you’ll meet your lovely team leaders and pick up your wristband! The times for these meetings will be confirmed closer to the summer but as long as you are there early afternoon you will be fine.

do i need anything extra to be on these teams?

No just your good selves!
