ushers
The ushering team are there to make sure that delegates are able to engage with God in a safe and secure environment during the main meeting.
Their role on site is to patrol the main meetings making sure that all people in the venue are adhering to the health and safety requirements i.e. not allowing certain items into the main meeting whilst being sensitive to older people and delegates with back problems etc. You need to be able to approach all different people and situations in a friendly accessible manner.
You will have to supply your own accommodation but in return for your hard work you will get a free place at the event and all your meals (breakfast day 1 – to the evening of Day 5) – what more could you want!
How old do I have to be?
The minimum age is 21.
What will my days look like?
You will arrive at the main meeting venue before the start of the service and have a meeting with the ushering team and other key people in the venue. You will then work through the main meeting and stay in the venue until all the delegates have left before having a quick debrief with the rest of the team. You are required to work all the main meetings at your chosen event.
When will I need to be on site?
Day 1 – midnight Day 5! There’s a meeting on Day 1 for all teams in the early afternoon followed by an individual team meeting where you’ll meet your lovely team leaders and pick up your wristband! The times for these meetings will be confirmed closer to the summer but as long as you are there early afternoon you will be fine.
Do I need anything extra to be on this team?
You need to have been on the ushering or stewarding team at least once before. You also need to be able to handle all types of situations from smiling happy delegates to delegates that don’t understand why they can’t bring in their camping chairs into the main meetings!

You can apply online using our booking system. If you haven't done so already you will need to register with our online system, then login. Book a place on the event of your choice and choose the option to book as a team member. It’s completely free to volunteer with us so won’t have to give any payment details.
