first aid

Our first aid team provide 24-hour first aid cover throughout Soul Survivor and Momentum. They are a team made up of first aiders, nurses, paramedics and doctors (however if you are in a profession allied to medicine e.g. physios we would also love to hear from you!).

The team is not only an opportunity to use your medical skills in a muddy field (well in the first aid centre in a muddy field) but it also gives you the opportunity to pray with delegates as well!

You will have to supply your own accommodation but in return for your hard work you will get a free place at the event and all your meals (beginning on the evening day 1 – to the evening of day 5) – what more could you want!

How old do I have to be?

The minimum age is 18.

What will my days look like?

Our first aid team work a shift system (8am-4pm, 4pm-midnight, midnight-8am). You will spend your time divided between being a presence in the main meetings, responding to incidents all over site and working in the medical centre. There will be opportunities to go to some seminars and main meetings each day depending on your shift.

when will i need to be on site?

Day 1 to the morning of Day 6. There’s a first aid team meeting on Day 1 which you MUST attend. The time for this meeting will be confirmed closer to the summer.

do i need anything extra to be on this team?

You must hold a current, relevant qualification and up to date indemnity cover. Documented evidence of this must be given to Soul Survivor before the event:

First aiders: Appropriate qualification from St John’s, Red Cross or similar, indemnity from Soul Survivor

Nurses:
NMC registration with recent acute experience and full registration with RCN or Unison

Paramedics: Recognised UK qualification and current appropriate indemnity cover

Doctors: full GMC registration and indemnity with MDU/MPS (must be ST1 or above to get cover for SS) – you must specifically tell them that you are volunteering for Soul Survivor to be indemnified

You will also be required to complete a Soul Survivor CRB (unless you hold one with Soul survivor that is less than 3 years old at the time of the event). A pack will be sent to you when you apply.

If you're applying to be on the first aid team for the first time then there will be special training day before the event we'd love you to attend.

ok, you’re interested, but how do you apply?

Please apply for your place on team online (we're no longer accepting team applications by post or email in 2012).

You can apply online using our booking system. If you haven't done so already you will need to register with our online system, then login. Book a place on the event of your choice and choose the option to book as a team member. It’s completely free to volunteer with us so won’t have to give any payment details.
