1. the application process

If you've applied to serve on a team, or are thinking of doing so, you might find it helpful to check out the process involved in getting your place on a team sorted. Have a read below to make sure you're not left scratching your head and waiting for the postman when you don't need to!

stage 1: receipt of application

Once we have received your application online we will reserve you a space on one of our teams. Firstly we will check to make sure there is enough space on your chosen team, email you with the team you have been put on along with the cp/sd form and we’ll contact your referee.

Please note if your first team choice is full you will automatically be allocated to your second or third choice. If neither choice is available, you will be allocated to the team most in need of your help (but not a team needing particular qualifications or experience). We will confirm what team you have been placed on by email.

crb forms

Your chosen team may also require a CRB. A pack will be automatically be posted to you if needed (you can check the team descriptions on the website to see if your team requires this check). Please follow the instructions included in the pack carefully.

stage 3: references

Reference requests will be sent by email or post. It is vital that we have the correct information for your referee. We cannot proceed with your application without this receiving this reference so please emphasise the importance to your referee. If possible, encourage them to complete the reference by phone: 0303 333 1333.

stage 4: team leader approval

If you have applied for the First aid, Connect (Welfare) and Comms team your team leaders will be sent your application for their approval.

stage 5: confirmation

Once we have received all your paperwork, your CRB (if required), and the reference from your Pastor/Church leader we will be able to confirm your team place by email! Until then you have a ‘reserved’ place on the team, so don’t worry that places may fill up or that you will miss out! We’ll still expect to see you unless you email us to cancel.

Your confirmation email will detail when we expect to see you on site, meeting times and extra information!

If you wish to cancel your team application at any point email teams@soulsurvivor.com as soon as possible. Please allow 30 days for the application process to be completed.

other things to note

age limits...

Although we don't want to be mean or ageist we do ask that everyone who comes on a team is at least 16 at the time of the event. Most teams however do require you to be 18 and over (apart from catering and the café teams) whilst for others you have to be 21 and over (like welfare). Please check the descriptions carefully before applying to make sure you qualify.

teams fill up...

Some teams do fill up pretty quick (especially the cafe teams) so please be sure to get applications in as early as possible. Applying doesn't necessarily mean that you get a place on a team either. We will contact your named references and ensure you are a suitable person for the role and to check that your church supports your application to be on team! A space will be reserved for you during this process so if you need to cancel your application please let us know as soon as possible.

concessions?

For those serving on a team some concessions may be offered to you. These do vary from team to team, so please ensure that you check the team description thoroughly. Most teams offer a free place at the event, and although you'll be working you will have some spare time to get to meetings and relax! Some teams are entitled to meals also.

no need to send in a booking form!

The application is also your booking form, and therefore there is no need to send in a separate booking form. Please do not send in any booking fees with this application. If you are unsuccessful in your application, then we will require that you either cancel your booking in writing, or send full booking fees to gain a pass to the event.

references

The referee you nominate on your application must not be related to you in any way. If the minister of your church is a relation, please use another leader from your church and specify their job role. Once we have received your application we will be contacting your minister or church leader for a reference.
