OK, so Christmas is here, and although we're probably all filled with joy and wonder, we also know that going the extra mile at Christmas isn't just a nice thing to do, but can prevent some family stresses too.
So we've come up with a load of top secret AOK (act of kindness) Day Missions for the twelve days of Christmas. Check them out over at the Soul Action site and see if you can do one or all of them! Oh, and that's a picture of Trea, the Soul Survivor office dog in a Christmas hat... well, why not?

How we love Christmas! It's the spirit of goodwill to all men and our good mates Tim, Al and Ben over at worshipcentral are spreading some very good will (hunting) by giving away a free album of unplugged versions of their songs!
The album was recorded in an old church called St Peter's in the centre of Brighton, off the back of the 2009 worshipcentral UK tour. Songs include 'God of All', 'Glory in the Highest' and 'Remember' as well as a new arrangement of a classic hymn, 'On Christ The Solid Rock'.
Here's what Tim had to say about the album:
"We are so grateful to everyone who has been a part of the Worship Central adventure in 2009, and we thought it would be fun to just get together with some friends, worship and give the recording away for free. Enjoy!"

We got sent a great music video today by a nice visitor to our website, Jack Mowll. It's of a song about God, well, more our preconceptions about who God is. It's great. The video is pretty nice too. Anyway, thanks to Jack we figured we'd share it with you too. Cheers Jack.
Oh, and below is the passage that's probably where the motivation for the lyrics to the song came from. It's pretty good so have a read...
1 John 4
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

As you may have heard our very good friends from Littlehampton, Delirious, have now called it a day and after 17 years! Not only have the chaps released numerous albums, and written songs that have become part of our expressions of worship, but they've helped to define how we praise God in our churches.
So, of course, we're sad to see them go. But don't panic. Our mates at God TV are giving them a proper send off with a Delirious night! So, tune in 0n 27th December to see a bunch of intereviews and footage from their farewell concert at the Hammersmith Apollo a few weeks back!
Plus, if you're quick, you can play your part in the evening by voting for your favourite ever Delirious song.
Just head over to God TV to take part!
Go on, you know you want to... just look at Delirious drummer Paul Evans over there. He'd be upset if you didn't vote...
our favourite is find me in the river...

Get in the mood by checking out this little fan vid from YouTube! It's of one of our all time faves Sufjan Stevens doing his rendition of 'Holy, Holy, Holy'... and it's stunningly beautiful. The pictures are quite nice too.
If you like this, we have a little tribute to Sufjan and his Christmas songs in this month's Magazine, so head over to our Vox Pops for more Christmas sing along songs!

What do you think would happen if a baby and a dog were in the Soul Survivor office at exactly the same time? Chaos that's what!
Check out the pics to see how little Dan go on during his second ever visit to the Soul Survivor offices. We didn't steal him... He's the son of the lovely Lorna who (before she went off on maternity leave to have another baby) was responsible for all things Soul Actiony.
If you called the office this morning you might have been greeted by a two year old's voice and some toddler talk about toy cars, clouds, footballs and vans. He likes vans.
After a bit
of hard work Danny boy got a bit fed up of dangling his legs over an office chair and having to reach his little arms out for a keyboard, so he just got on the desk and had a crawl around.
Office dog Trea, was of course, very amused and delighted to have a small friend pop in to see her. In fact she was so pleased she joined Dan on the desk and had a little wander.
So, that's basically what happens when kids and dogs enter the working environment. It's quite fun really, we're about to offer Dan a full time position as a receptionist (pending references of course)...

Around twice a year we sit down with a nice cuppa and some tasty snacks in a warm office. We then literally bang our heads together until we come up with a fresh set of articles, thoughts, random funniness and metaphysical meanderings that we can put into our very special Mini Mag. It's a fun job. And here's the latest result of our mind banging meeting... a very special Christmas edition!
Because of postal issues and to cut down on costs we're not posting our mini mag this Christmas, so do let us know what you think of the 100% digital version!

For those of you that know Mike, you'll know that he sometimes likes to go on about stuff a lot. At the moment his specialist subject is our upcoming conference 'Naturally Supernatural'.
He's very excited as we have a whole load of fantastic speakers coming from all over the place to teach us about the Holy Spirit and moving in the Gifts that God gives. Confirmed to join us already are Sandy Millar and Blaine Cook (who worked alongside John Wimber).
The event is being held at Soul Survivor Watford between 24th-26th February. Costs are £40 for the three days though there are cheaper rates and evening only options too!

Forget the turning on of your town's Christmas lights, you know when the festive season is really upon you when you get to open the first door on your advent calendar! How exciting that you get to count down the 25 days 'til the birth of our Lord by opening some cardboard door and eating a little chocolate for brekkie each morning! We're not sure how that ever became part of the celebration of Jesus' birth but we love it!
As we love the Christmas season so much we're going to share our daily openings of the Soul Survivor office advent calendar with you (please forgive us if we miss a day or weekend here and there). Chris has drawn up a rota and so everyone in the office gets the chance to open up a door and eat a chocolate! Yes! So, if you don't have your own advent calendar you can join in with our countdown! Aren't we nice.
OK, here we go.
The chocolate that was hiding behind Day 1, December 1st was a very festive Christmas hat. Well done Louise for opening the door without any rips. Now isn't that nice.

This is Trea! She's the office dog and she's lovely. You might have met her during the summer events bounding about, creating havoc and enjoying herself by chewing on a plastic bottle (her toy of choice).
Anyway, Trea comes into the office here nearly everyday. She has a nice little bed right in the middle of our desks and keeps us all entertained (especially when we got bored in the afternoons). And other than bottles, she loves her little tooth cleaning bone.
Over the past few days we've noticed that at about 3.30pm she undertakes a little ritual. Trea wanders round the office with her little bone, getting slightly upset that she can't find anywhere to bury it. After about 10 minutes of this she resorts to her bed, and tries to bury her bone in her bedding. It really is very cute indeed.
We thought you'd like to see this wonder of the office, so here is
a little video. It's just a little Quicktime movie, so should just about play if you have Quicktime installed. Well, let's hope so. If you can't see it, trust us, it's funny.

Look at these! Brilliant hey? The lovely Beth Croft was going through her old photos and found some pictures of when her and Andy were courting (back in the 50's by the look of things).
She also found a gem of a snap of Mikey P looking rather dashing just before his graduation as an accountant - just look at those glasses, they are so retro they are almost cool!
This was before the era of strangely coloured shirts, stubble and trendy haircuts of course.
Ok, so it is Friday and that was all a lie. Beth was bored so Yearbooked herself and a few of the faces! Enjoy!

2000 copies of the brand new Soul Survivor 09 live album 'Not Ashamed' have just arrived in the office! Hooray. We're busy stuffing around 1,400 of them into envelopes to send out to loads of you lovely people who've already pre ordered this gem of a double album.
Benny C popped into the office and got involved in all the packing fresh from his new role at WorshipCentral, which was good as loads of his songs feature on the CD! It was very nice to see him indeed. But packing does get a bit boring so we all got carried away and tried to bury Natalie in as many CD's as possible. Which was nice.
If you've ordered a copy you should be getting it in the next few days, and if you haven't you can buy a copy at our online shop. With two CD's and 17 tracks we reckon it's a bit of a bargain at just £11.99!
Not convinced? Just check out some of our favourite tracks from the album by listening to our online radio! Go on, it's great!
