3. soul61: all the juicy details

The basic course cost for our 2012 course will be between £4000-4500 which will cover accommodation, bills and course materials. This will need to be paid in one sum in mid Sept 2011. This is so we can sign contracts on the housing you’ll be living in. You will also be responsible for raising additional money for your food and pocket money, which we suggest could be up to £3000 for 10 months, or around £70 per week.

Unless of course you aim to live off Baked Beans on toast (Andy has mastered that recipe and is happy to share his skills…). This side of the finances we leave entirely in your hands – you don’t need to have it all in advance. Unfortunately because the course is full time you won’t have time to get a job throughout the year.

We do realise that these figures are daunting! Please let us assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep the cost to an absolute minimum. We’re not making a profit out of the course and will do everything we can to help you make ends meet. The huge majority of what you pay is simply what it costs to live in Watford for 10 months; the course fee itself is minimal.

In addition if you’d like to go on one or more overseas trips you will be responsible for raising money to go. The cost will vary considerably depending on the destination – obviously Holland is a lot cheaper than Australia! There’s no obligation to go on any trips at all.

the length & start dates
